Daily Food Diary #5 | Jan. 5th 2016

Hi Guys!

Today I was ready to head to the gym and instead I ended up going to the grocery store because I had super bad tummy cramps. I just couldn't imagine stretching and working out. So I feel like a failure today. They ended up getting better towards the afternoon and so I ran up and down our stairs a little bit haha. I felt like I at least did something. I planned on jump roping but got distracted with cleaning, baking cookies with the kids, making dinner and now I'm working on the computer. Fail again. So let's just say I suck today lol. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be better.

I did really enjoy my food today though hahaha! Lunch was so good and dinner surprised me with how yummy it turned out.

Here's what I ate today:

Breakfast:
1/2 cup of Fage 2% greek yogurt
1 handful of raspberries
1/2 banana
1 tbsp of glazed walnuts
16 oz water

Lunch: Pear & Walnut Salad

1 chicken breast
1 Big handful of spinach
1 pear diced
7 grapes cut into thirds
Glazed walnuts

Dijon Honey Vinaigrette  (for 2 people)
3 tbsp Sesame Oil
2 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
1 tbsp Honey
1 tbsp Spicy Brown Mustard

16 oz water

Snack:
1 Banana
1/2 cup Pistachios
8 oz water

Dinner:
Paleo Stuffed Peppers
(I substituted the tomato paste for 5 fresh tomatoes on the vine)

16 oz water

That's it for me today :) I'm finding my mid morning snack hard to remember to eat because I'm really busy when the kids are in school. I need to be better about it. I also really want chocolate today. WAHHH!

See you tomorrow!

Daily Food Diary #4 | Jan. 4th 2016

Hi Guys!

Today was my first day at the gym. It's been a very long time since I was in the gym and the minute I started stretching.... I felt it haha! I hate stretching. It hurts. A lot! But I got through it and by the end, it was feeling pretty good. We basically just did a bunch of stretching and exercises with our own body weight. We plan on going Mon - Fri while the kids are at school. I woke up extra early to get ready before the kids woke up, so that I could still film while they were at school, and still get my work out it. Ahhhh, the sacrifices we make to look good. I'll see you one day sleep. It will be delightful.

Today I was busy and lost track of time. I didn't eat my snacks like I should have. I'm hoping tomorrow I will remember to eat them.

Here's what I ate:

Breakfast:
2 slices of Turkey Bacon
1 Grapefruit
16 oz of water

Snack:
8 oz water

Lunch:
Cucumber Salad
1/4 English Cucumber diced
2 Kumato tomatoes diced
1/2 avocado diced
1 slice of red onion diced
1 chicken breast

Lemon Vinaigrette Dressing
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp spicy brown mustard
Pinch of salt & pepper
3 tbsp Sesame Oil

16 oz water

Snack:
1 cup of green tea
8 oz water

Dinner:
White Fish (cooked the same as yesterday)
Broccoli
Asparagus
Carrots
16 oz water

No headache today. I did have stomach cramps (low down) and Jay said it was because we worked on our cores. They went away by the evening.

I'm off to bed now guys!

See you tomorrow :)

Daily Food Diary Day #1 | Jan 1st 2016

Hi Guys!

Jay and I have decided to eat healthier this year, so I wanted to start documenting what we eat every day on here, so I keep myself on track, as well as have the recipes somewhere for you guys to find. I'm excited to get into better shape this year because a couple of years ago I felt really awesome about my body, and now I don't. LOL.

Starting on Monday (when the kids get back in school) Jay and I will start going to the gym, which I'm nervous about. I hate the gym but it's cold and icy and I don't want to freeze my booty off outside and Jay likes the gym, so I figured it would be a fun thing to do together as a couple. Unfortunately our gyms in town, don't have child care, so if we want to go together we have to go while they are in school. Hopefully I can still keep up with my work schedule and keep going to the gym. We shall see.

Here's what I ate today.

Breakfast:
2 strips of turkey bacon.
1 bowl of sliced strawberries & bananas.
16 oz water.

Snack:
1 orange and a handful of pistachios. 16 oz water.

Lunch:
Khloe Kardashian's Chinese Chicken Salad from her "Strong Looks Better Naked" Book.
16 oz water.
1 cup of green tea.

Dinner:
1 fillet of White fish (with lemon, parsley, garlic, red onions, salt & pepper and olive oil)
1 cup broccoli
1 cup cauliflower
16 oz water.

Dessert: 1 cup of grapes.
16 oz water.

So far, I feel fine. I'm not feeling deprived or sad I can't eat chocolate. I peed my life away. It was clear by lunch. Sorry if that's TMI but that never happens because I'm terrible about drinking water. The lunch took way longer to make than our normal lunches, which will take some getting used to. It took about 1/2 an hour but usually it's maybe 10 minutes because it's a tuna fish sandwich or something simple like that. This one did take a bit more effort but it tasted absolutely amazing. I highly recommend trying this recipe guys. It's delicious!

I'll see you tomorrow!

DRUGSTORE Thanksgiving & Christmas Makeup!

This post is sponsored by Target.

Hi, my loves!

Today I'm going to show you how to take Pixi's new holiday sets and create a Thanksgiving & Christmas look. Both of these looks were created with minimal products and everything shown is from Target

The packaging is gorgeous and so festive (#thatssofest) and you can create so many different looks with just these three sets.

For me, Thanksgiving makeup is warm and natural. Nothing overly sparkly or shimmery but still pretty. I like using natural colors that remind me of the colors of Fall. Christmas makeup is much more glam in my opinion. More shimmer and sparkle and, of course a berry-toned red or burgundy lip. I wanted to keep both of these looks suitable for people who like to keep it easy and budget-friendly, as well as quick (for those busy Mama's out there). The holidays can be pretty hectic for us, so it's nice to feel glamorous, and pretty without having to take tons of time to do it. By adding just a few more products, and five more minutes, you can take your natural, earthy, Thanksgiving makeup to glamorous, shimmery Christmas makeup.

Let's get started!

Thanksgiving Makeup - Earthy, natural & warm tones.

I wanted to keep the eyes warm but very natural with a soft plum liner. The cheeks are contoured and the blush is a nice, subtle dusty rose color – and I couldn't not have a highlight shade haha! You still gotta glow in that area, ladies. The lips are a nice warm; coral nude is perfect for Thanksgiving if you are not into darker colors on your lips.

Here's what I used:

Physician's Formula Argan Wear BB Cream Light/Medium: Apply this all over your face using a damp beauty blender to even out your skin tone.
Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer Light: Apply this in a triangle shape under the eyes and blend out with a damp beauty blender.
No7 Translucent Perfect Light Loose Powder: With a small fluffy brush, work this in circular motions under the eye to set your concealer, as well as on your forehead, smile lines, upper lip and chin. Then take a big fluffy brush and buff a small amount on the rest of your face to set your foundation.
Pixi by Petra Natural Contour Kit: Take #1 with a small fluffy brush and apply under your eyes to brighten. Take #4 with an angled contour brush and apply to the hollows of your cheeks, temples, sides of nose, below your bottom lip and jaw line to contour your face. Take #3 and apply to cheeks and follow with #2 and a small fluffy brush and highlight the tops of your cheek bones, bridge and tip of your nose and Cupid's bow.
Pixi Endless Brow Gen Pen Medium: Shape your brows how you like them.
Pixi Natural Brow Duo Natural Brown: Take the gel and brush end and lightly sweep over brows to comb them down and set brows.
Pixi by Petra Natural Contour Kit: Take #6 with a fluffy brush and apply to the crease. Then take #11 and apply to the brow bone and tear duct. Take #12 and pat onto your lid. Take #3 and apply to the outer corner of your crease and lower lash line.
Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen Quartette (Deep Plum): Apply to upper lash line 1/4 of the way in and make a slight wing at the end.
Loreal Telescopic Carbon Black: Apply 2 coats to your lashes.
Pixi by Petra Mattelustre Lipstick Quartette (Honey Bare): Apply to lips.

Voila! There's Thanksgiving taken care of.

Now onto Christmas. Here're the items I added to my Thanksgiving look. I just added them right on top of what I had on already.

First I changed out my lip color. I used the Rose Naturelle out of the same Pixi quartette. I also took some of the NYX Hot Red lip liner on top of that to add a little more red, to make it extra festive. Then I added the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blush in 30 Flushed to add more of a flushed, rosy glow to the cheeks. Take the Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Exotic Crystal Illuminating Loose Powder with a fluffy brush to the high points of your cheekbones and nose. This is super shimmery and adds that extra glow to the skin. I also added this to my tear duct and on the inner half of my lid. For the eyes I added #8 to the crease and blended #10 above the plum liner and up into the crease to create a soft smoky eye. I also added #8 to my lower lash line. Finish the eyes with the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black/Noir over the upper lash line creating a slightly bigger flick at the end and this look is complete.

There's the finished look for Christmas makeup. You can see it's just a little more glamorous and has a little more sparkle. The lip is a nice soft, berry red in case bright red isn't your thing.

Disney INSIDE OUT Birthday Party Ideas!

Hi My Loves!

Over the weekend, Lily turned 3 and we had a super fun Inside Out themed party for her. She is obsessed with the movie right now and was so excited to have an Inside Out birthday party. In today's vlog I'm going to show you the Inside Out things I found for her party and where I got them :) I hope this helps if you have an Inside Out obsessed child like we do.

For the cake I ordered these Inside Out figurines from Etsy. I took them in to our local ice cream store and asked her to put polka dots with the colors of the emotions on the top and then small pink polka dots on there for Bing Bong. We always get ice cream cakes because it's always a hit with the kids (and let's face it, the adults love ice cream too)... I think it turned out pretty cute. Plus, when you are finished with the cake, you can rince off the characters and let your kids play with them. 2 in 1. Lily was super excited about the cake when she saw her "friends" on there.

Here she is trying to get a sneak peek when Jay picked it up :)

Lily got a new dress from my Aunt in England for her birthday the day before so she was very excited to wear it ;) Isn't she so cute?

She even let me put her hair in a ponytail with a hair bow!! WOW! I was so excited haha!

For the table cloth, I went with this polka dot one I found at The Dollar Tree. The different colored circles looked like the different emotions memory balls.

We made our own Inside Out goodie bag. I'll have a separate blog post on that tomorrow.

We added the kids names so that they could be given out quickly so that when we did the pinata (we couldn't find an Inside Out one) they could collect the candy and put them in their own bags.

I found the plates from Oriental Trading. The prices were good on these too! The had the dessert plates and the dinner plates.

I also got these Sadness and Joy napkins from Oriental Trading. The cups on there were $1 per cup so I chose these "memory ball" ones to go with the table cloth for $1 for all at The Dollar Tree. I went with yellow (Joy) and blue (Sadness) forks and spoons to go with the theme of her favorite characters.

I added some tins of candy from The Candy Club. Lily and her friend Teagan were pretty happy with them haha.

We decided to have her party at the park. Our house is a little small and can get cramped when there are a few people over. Plus I end up being super stressy, running around cleaning EVERYTHING like a lunatic before parties and then spend forever cleaning up after the party once it's over. This year I decided I wanted it to be less stressful for me haha. So the park was perfect. The kids had a blast, the parents could relax because they weren't worried about their kids touching things in our house etc and it was just such an awesome, fun and relaxing party for the parents, the kids and me :) It was a little smoky that day but the weather ended up being perfect. It was such a nice temperature. I feel like everyone really enjoyed themselves.

We ordered cheese pizza for the kids and BBQ Chicken pizza for the adults and it was so delicious. If you guys want good pizza in Tahoe, go to Grand Central. It's so amazing. Plus they delivered to the park which was super convenient for us.

The kids loved the cake as you can see below.

We did the pull pinata so they could have a turn one at a time and then they all had so much fun collecting the candy :)

Here's her presents. They were all super cute and she had so much fun! YAY for birthday parties!

Overall I think the party turned out great. Lily was super excited to see all of the Inside Out things, she loved her cake and had a ton of fun doing her favorite thing, swinging at the park. She loved playing with all of her friends and what kid doesn't love pizza, cake and ice cream. It was such an easy party to plan for me which made me enjoy it more because I wasn't nearly as stressed out as I normally am for their parties haha. So it was pretty awesome. At the end of the day, if your kids are happy with it, then that's all that matters and they both had a great day.
