DRUGSTORE Thanksgiving & Christmas Makeup!

This post is sponsored by Target.

Hi, my loves!

Today I'm going to show you how to take Pixi's new holiday sets and create a Thanksgiving & Christmas look. Both of these looks were created with minimal products and everything shown is from Target

The packaging is gorgeous and so festive (#thatssofest) and you can create so many different looks with just these three sets.

For me, Thanksgiving makeup is warm and natural. Nothing overly sparkly or shimmery but still pretty. I like using natural colors that remind me of the colors of Fall. Christmas makeup is much more glam in my opinion. More shimmer and sparkle and, of course a berry-toned red or burgundy lip. I wanted to keep both of these looks suitable for people who like to keep it easy and budget-friendly, as well as quick (for those busy Mama's out there). The holidays can be pretty hectic for us, so it's nice to feel glamorous, and pretty without having to take tons of time to do it. By adding just a few more products, and five more minutes, you can take your natural, earthy, Thanksgiving makeup to glamorous, shimmery Christmas makeup.

Let's get started!

Thanksgiving Makeup - Earthy, natural & warm tones.

I wanted to keep the eyes warm but very natural with a soft plum liner. The cheeks are contoured and the blush is a nice, subtle dusty rose color – and I couldn't not have a highlight shade haha! You still gotta glow in that area, ladies. The lips are a nice warm; coral nude is perfect for Thanksgiving if you are not into darker colors on your lips.

Here's what I used:

Physician's Formula Argan Wear BB Cream Light/Medium: Apply this all over your face using a damp beauty blender to even out your skin tone.
Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer Light: Apply this in a triangle shape under the eyes and blend out with a damp beauty blender.
No7 Translucent Perfect Light Loose Powder: With a small fluffy brush, work this in circular motions under the eye to set your concealer, as well as on your forehead, smile lines, upper lip and chin. Then take a big fluffy brush and buff a small amount on the rest of your face to set your foundation.
Pixi by Petra Natural Contour Kit: Take #1 with a small fluffy brush and apply under your eyes to brighten. Take #4 with an angled contour brush and apply to the hollows of your cheeks, temples, sides of nose, below your bottom lip and jaw line to contour your face. Take #3 and apply to cheeks and follow with #2 and a small fluffy brush and highlight the tops of your cheek bones, bridge and tip of your nose and Cupid's bow.
Pixi Endless Brow Gen Pen Medium: Shape your brows how you like them.
Pixi Natural Brow Duo Natural Brown: Take the gel and brush end and lightly sweep over brows to comb them down and set brows.
Pixi by Petra Natural Contour Kit: Take #6 with a fluffy brush and apply to the crease. Then take #11 and apply to the brow bone and tear duct. Take #12 and pat onto your lid. Take #3 and apply to the outer corner of your crease and lower lash line.
Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen Quartette (Deep Plum): Apply to upper lash line 1/4 of the way in and make a slight wing at the end.
Loreal Telescopic Carbon Black: Apply 2 coats to your lashes.
Pixi by Petra Mattelustre Lipstick Quartette (Honey Bare): Apply to lips.

Voila! There's Thanksgiving taken care of.

Now onto Christmas. Here're the items I added to my Thanksgiving look. I just added them right on top of what I had on already.

First I changed out my lip color. I used the Rose Naturelle out of the same Pixi quartette. I also took some of the NYX Hot Red lip liner on top of that to add a little more red, to make it extra festive. Then I added the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blush in 30 Flushed to add more of a flushed, rosy glow to the cheeks. Take the Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Exotic Crystal Illuminating Loose Powder with a fluffy brush to the high points of your cheekbones and nose. This is super shimmery and adds that extra glow to the skin. I also added this to my tear duct and on the inner half of my lid. For the eyes I added #8 to the crease and blended #10 above the plum liner and up into the crease to create a soft smoky eye. I also added #8 to my lower lash line. Finish the eyes with the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black/Noir over the upper lash line creating a slightly bigger flick at the end and this look is complete.

There's the finished look for Christmas makeup. You can see it's just a little more glamorous and has a little more sparkle. The lip is a nice soft, berry red in case bright red isn't your thing.

Bold Brows & Lips for Fall.

This post is sponsored by Target.

 Hi My Loves!!

Today I'm going to be doing a look for you using products you can find at your local Target. This look is a classic look that is quick and perfect for Fall because it can go with so many different outfits. I've included two lip options for you, so that if you don't like a bold lip, you can do something a little more nude but still Fall appropriate. I focused on the brows and lips to keep it wearable for any occasion whether it's work, school or going out with your girlfriends.

I was sent a box of Pixi products from Target to create this look focusing on the brows using all of Pixi's brow products. I have never used these before so I was super excited to try them out! Here's what came in my "High Brow" box. Isn't it gorgeous? I was so excited when I opened it haha!

Pixi Mattelustre Lipsticks ~ Honey Bare // Petal Pink // Raspberry Blush

Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel ~ No.3 Rosy

Pixi Natural Brow Duo ~ Natural Brown // Deep Brunette
Pixi Large Lash Mascara

Pixi Colour Correcting Powder Foundation ~ No. 1 Cream // No. 2 Nude // No. 3 Warm

Pixi Endless Brow Gel Pen ~ Light // Medium // Deep

Pixi Brow Powder Palette ~ Shades of Brows

Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

Pixi Correction Concentrate ~ Brightening Peach

I thought the card in came with was super cute how they made a face out of the products ;)

Here's everything that was used to create the look. Everything shown can be found at your local Target or Target.com.

To prep my skin I spray the Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist all over and let it dry. Next I applied the No7 Beautifully Matte Make Up Base to help fill in pores, lines and keep my skin matte throughout the day.

Next I mixed Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation in the colors 20 Classic Ivory with 048 Sun Beige and applied that all over my face using my fingers.

For my concealer I used the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Concealer in Light. This is my hands down favorite concealer in the universe. It's way better than high end concealers. It's amazing.

To set under my eyes I used the Pixi Colour Correcting Powder Foundation in No. 1 Cream with a small fluffy brush. For the rest of my face I took a large fluffy brush and the Pixi Colour Correcting Powder Foundation in No. 3 Warm. These are nice because they give you a little extra coverage and set your makeup at the same time. They are really nice.

For the brows I used a few different products to create the perfect color for me. First I used the Pixi Endless Brow Gel Pen in Medium to pencil in my shape. I then filled them in using the Pixi Brow Powder Palette in the third shade down with a brush. Then I applied the Gel side of the Pixi Natural Brow Duo to my brows to keep them in place. I finished off by taking a flat brush and the Pixi Correction Concentrate in Brightening Peach to really carve out under the brow to make them really stand out and have a nice sharp line underneath.

For my contour,  I used the Boots Botanics Contouring Kit to contour the hollows of my cheeks, temples, sides of my nose, jawline & lower lip. For my blush I used the Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel in No. 3 Rosy. I applied this with a stippling brish in stippling motions at first and then buffed it in. It gives a gorgeous rosy cheek that is very natural and flushed. My highlight is the No7 Shimmer Palette in Rose. I applied it to the bridge and tip of my nose, tops of my cheekbones and cupids bow.

For my eyes I wanted to keep it simple so that the main focus is on the brow instead of the eyeshadow. I swept the second and third shadows down from the Pixi Brow Powder Palette with a fluffy brush in my crease. Then I took the lightest shade and popped that on my brow bone and lid. With the angled brush that comes in the kit I sprayed it with the Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist and dipped it into the darkest shade in the palette and used that as a liner on my lash line. I smudged it out a little to create a soft and smudgy cat eye so that it gave my eyes a bit of something without distracting form the brows and lips. This is great for any outfit and is very quick to do.

I used the Pixi Large Lash Mascara. This mascara is awesome for a very feathered out but still dramatic lash. This isn't clumpy or spidery looking at all. It's soft, fans the lashes out nicely and doesn't get all over your lid when applying.

If you like a more nude lip then take the Pixi Mattelustre Lipstick in the color Honey Bare. It's the perfect nude lip for Fall. These are creamy, hydrating and feel amazing on the lips. The pigmentation is super awesome too.

Here's the look with the nude lip option.

If you are someone who likes a bolder lip then the Pixi Mattelustre Lipstick in Raspberry Blush. It's a nice mix between a red and pink. It's the perfect berry color for Fall.

Here's the bolder lip option.

How to Wear Green for Day & Night!

This post is sponsored by Target.

 Hi My Loves!!

Today I'm going to show you how to wear one of my favorite shadow colors for Summer. I love these cool green colors because they remind me of the different shades of water when you go to the beach. Some people can be a little overwhelmed when it comes to color on the eyes, especially brighter ones. So here is a really easy and fun way to create a day and night look using different shades of green to give you a fun and cool pop of color. All of the items used in this post can be found at your local Target.

DAY LOOK:
For the day I like to keep the tones of green a lot lighter. More on the minty or aqua side. I also skipped the liner to keep it looking fresh and bright on the eyes. It instantly gives you a bright, summer look. Pair it off with a nude pinky lip and it's perfect for any occasion in the day time. For both of the day and night look I kept the skin nice and glowy on the cheekbones with a cool pink blush that also has a gorgeous glow.

By placing the mint color over the whole lid and lower lid and then bringing the brown into the crease, it breaks it up and keeps it modern. When using these type of brighter or pastel colors, always use a more neutral transition shade in the crease. It makes it much more wearable and easier to pull off.

Phoenix was taking the pictures for me with the remote. He was dying laughing. His face is so red here haha!

Here's what I used for the day look:

On the eyes for the day look, I used the top color on my brow bone, 2nd color down on the entire lid over the top of the Maybelline cream shadow and then I put the bottom bronze color in the crease. I also took the minty color on my bottom lash line as well.

NIGHT LOOK:

To take this look from day to night, all you need to do is add the darker green from the palette. I wet my brush with the ELF setting spray and then packed the darker green all over where the mint was before. I also smudged it on my lower lash line as well. Then I added the middle shade (the darker brown) into the crease to add more depth and darkness to the eye. Then I wet my liner brush and took the last bronze color in the palette and applied that as my liner. Switch up the lip color by adding a brighter pink or purple and you instantly have a fun, colorful, cool makeup look that's perfect for a night out with the girls, a Summer party or night BBQ. If there is any time of the year to rock bright pops of color, it's now!

For the night look I just added these other items to create a more colorful, night appropriate look.

I sprayed a flat brush with the ELF Makeup Mist & Set so the brush was damp. Then I picked up the darker green shade and placed that all over my lid where the minty color was for the day look. I added it to the bottom lash line as well with the damp brush. By dampening the brush, it makes the color really vibrant and pigmented. I then took the third color down (the darker brown) and placed that into the crease and outer corner to make it deeper or darker for the night. For the lip I used the Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in the color Brazen Berry.

That's all I used to take this cool minty Summer day look, into a fun and vibrant night look.
