Budget Friendly Self Tanning Option for a Golden Glow!

This post is sponsored by Jergens.

 Hi My Loves!!

We all know I love a good tan. I feel like everything I put on looks better when I have a tan. Whether it's just a t shirt and ripped jeans with my knees poking out or a swimsuit, I always feel much more confident with a tan. Today I'm going to show you how to prep for summer and get a gorgeous and natural golden glow using products that are budget friendly that you can find at your local drugstore. I will also have a link to a $1 off coupon at the end of this blog post, so be sure to get that before you head to the store. Now seeing as the things we wear look better with a tan, I thought why not show you in this blog post how your man can look better with a tan haha. After all, he will be your accessory at the beach right? Might as well both look goldenly fabulous :) So a huge thanks to Jay for being an awesome sport for being my model for this post. He's the best. I have used all of these products as well. Just thought that was important to note.

As you can see in the before and after, Jay is naturally quite pale. He did recently get a sunburn so he's still a bit pink in places. The great thing about the Jergens self tanner is that it's super subtle and very natural looking. So if you are a beginner to self tanning and don't quite have the confidence using a super intense, dark one, then this would be the one for you. It's also really great for people who are naturally very pale and want a nice golden tan without looking like you have a bunch of self tanner on. It's not an obvious self tan. It honestly looks like you went for a little weekend getaway and got a bit of color. You don't get crazy wrists or blotchy bits. It's super easy to apply as it's a very wet and liquidy foam. It applies very quickly as well, so it's awesome if you don't have a whole lot of time to spend applying self tanner. It does take a bit to dry. I would say about 15 minutes before you can get fully dressed. Jay sat in front of a fan for about 5 minutes and he was good. It takes a good full day to see the tan, so I recommend applying in the morning before you want to be tan. He left it on all day and showered the following morning.

Here's what the products look like. They have a pre tan scrub, the self tanning foam and a tan extender.

The first thing you will need to do is exfoliate and shave. We used the Jergens® Natural Glow® Color Primer In-Shower Scrub. This scrub has a nice grit, it smells amazing and helps to get all of the dead skin off. It's super important to always exfoliate before you self tan to ensure that you get an even, streak free tan. Don't self tan without exfoliating. We just put it on an exfoliating mit and rub anywhere you will be applying the self tanner.

Once you are all dried off, I recommend putting any body lotion on the tops of feet, knees, ankles, elbows, wrists and hands. This will help to make sure you don't get those areas streaky or too much self tan as they tend to grab a little darker. Next apply the Jergens® Natural Glow® Instant Sun Sunless Tanning Mousse.
This doesn't have strong smell and goes on quickly and easily. It comes out as a slight peachy orange tint. You can see where you've applied it but it doesn't give an immediate color. So your hands don't immediately get super dark and crazy looking. You still have to wash your hands once you are done of course. You can use a mit to apply if you like, or put gloves on. I use my hands. It's up to you. It takes a good full day to develop, so do it the day before you want to be gorgeously golden.

Now once you have your tan developed, you want to keep it as long as possible. Use the Jergens® Natural Glow® Tan Extender Daily Moisturizer.
This will help to extend your tan and keep you looking bronzed longer than if you used regular lotion to moisturize. You use it in place of your regular moisturizer and apply it every day after you shower. It does give a slight bit of a self tan smell towards the end of the day, so keep that in mind. It does take a little longer to dry as well. I used this for about 2 days after I applied mine and then I stopped using it. My tan lasted about a week. It faded out super evenly and very nicely. No dry, desert looking patches like my normal self tanner and no crazy looking wrists. It just gradually disappears so that was so nice. Normally when I start to fade it looks terrible and splotchy. So again, this is super natural when it's on and fading off.

Overall, I was impressed with these products. It's a little lighter of a tan than I am used to so I will probably use this in the winter time and continue using my super intense, dark one for the summer. Like I said before though, if you are just starting out and just want a bit of color or if you are really pale and nervous, I highly recommend trying this. It's basically fool proof. You can't really mess it up and you will look like you have a healthy, golden, weekend getaway glow. Plus it's not going to break your bank.

Hope this helped :) Enjoy looking 5 pounds skinnier with your tan haha!

How to Wear Green for Day & Night!

This post is sponsored by Target.

 Hi My Loves!!

Today I'm going to show you how to wear one of my favorite shadow colors for Summer. I love these cool green colors because they remind me of the different shades of water when you go to the beach. Some people can be a little overwhelmed when it comes to color on the eyes, especially brighter ones. So here is a really easy and fun way to create a day and night look using different shades of green to give you a fun and cool pop of color. All of the items used in this post can be found at your local Target.

DAY LOOK:
For the day I like to keep the tones of green a lot lighter. More on the minty or aqua side. I also skipped the liner to keep it looking fresh and bright on the eyes. It instantly gives you a bright, summer look. Pair it off with a nude pinky lip and it's perfect for any occasion in the day time. For both of the day and night look I kept the skin nice and glowy on the cheekbones with a cool pink blush that also has a gorgeous glow.

By placing the mint color over the whole lid and lower lid and then bringing the brown into the crease, it breaks it up and keeps it modern. When using these type of brighter or pastel colors, always use a more neutral transition shade in the crease. It makes it much more wearable and easier to pull off.

Phoenix was taking the pictures for me with the remote. He was dying laughing. His face is so red here haha!

Here's what I used for the day look:

On the eyes for the day look, I used the top color on my brow bone, 2nd color down on the entire lid over the top of the Maybelline cream shadow and then I put the bottom bronze color in the crease. I also took the minty color on my bottom lash line as well.

NIGHT LOOK:

To take this look from day to night, all you need to do is add the darker green from the palette. I wet my brush with the ELF setting spray and then packed the darker green all over where the mint was before. I also smudged it on my lower lash line as well. Then I added the middle shade (the darker brown) into the crease to add more depth and darkness to the eye. Then I wet my liner brush and took the last bronze color in the palette and applied that as my liner. Switch up the lip color by adding a brighter pink or purple and you instantly have a fun, colorful, cool makeup look that's perfect for a night out with the girls, a Summer party or night BBQ. If there is any time of the year to rock bright pops of color, it's now!

For the night look I just added these other items to create a more colorful, night appropriate look.

I sprayed a flat brush with the ELF Makeup Mist & Set so the brush was damp. Then I picked up the darker green shade and placed that all over my lid where the minty color was for the day look. I added it to the bottom lash line as well with the damp brush. By dampening the brush, it makes the color really vibrant and pigmented. I then took the third color down (the darker brown) and placed that into the crease and outer corner to make it deeper or darker for the night. For the lip I used the Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in the color Brazen Berry.

That's all I used to take this cool minty Summer day look, into a fun and vibrant night look.
