Women & Magazines.......

Hi My Loves!

When I used to work in the salon, magazines were a part if my everyday life. Quickly sneaking in a bit of fashion, beauty or celeb gossip in between clients was always a good time :) Or while coloring a clients hair we would chat about the magazines and who had the hottest hair, body, makeup etc. I enjoyed it. There's just something about being a woman and reading magazines. They just go together like peas and carrots :)

It's been a super long time since I bought or even read a magazine. I honestly can't even remember. Jay brought me one home a few weeks ago and I finally had a little browse through it the other day and forgot how much I do love a good magazine. So today while I was out shopping with BS, I picked up a few. Ok.... Maybe 8. Haha!!! Hey, I've been deprived so I felt the need to go crazy and buy a bunch lol!! Ill be set for a while :)

So here's what I chose.....

And here's what I look like as I type this at night while my angels sleep peacefully and Jay edits our daily vlog :) We had a super fun night tonight, BS and her boyfriend came over and he cooked us dinner. It was nice to have the night off from cooking :)

What magazines tickle your fancy??

Thanks for reading :)

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Full Coverage Foundation!

Hi My Loves!!!

I picked up a sample of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Full Coverage Foundation in the color 00 Fair.  This retails for $38.00 at Sephora.

I tried it for the first time the other day and here's my thoughts and application:

This is with flash. I think it photographs nicely with the flash on.

You can see it kid of looks powdery around the nose and forehead.

Without flash looks a bit dull and pooish. Plus I'm feeling like the color on the bottom of my hair is not doing it for me. I feel like it's not bringing out my skin tone the best (nuts)... thoughts??

Me In High School!

Hi My Loves!!!

I thought it would be fun to do a post with some pictures if the past. I've had quite a few people over my years on you tube asking about what my prom was like, what I was like in high school, etc etc.....

High school was not fun for me. I never really felt like I fit in, I was always a little quirky and nobody really got it. I would never want to go back haha!!! My highschool years were spent in California, after we moved from England. I had a different sense of humor to all the other kids and so it took a little bit of time for people to get me I suppose. Plus I moved there my sophomore year so the cliques had already been formed the year before. Nuts! I had a small group of friends that helped me get through the transition though so that was good :)

It started out a little rough after my mom passed away but each year got a little easier and by my senior year I was feeling a little better and wasn't as awkward as the years before.

I couldn't find any pictures from when I was a sophomore because honestly I don't think I ever let people take pictures of me..... it was an awkward time what with the massive acne and weight gain but hey what can you do??

Here's a few pictures I found. I'm going to try to find more but I think they are in boxes somewhere so ill have to search one day when I have a chance :)

All of these pictures were taken from the beginning to end of my senior year. I was 17..... Wow!! 10 years ago! Yikes I feel old! Nothing like looking back and thinking it wasn't that long ago and then realizing it was 10 years ago!!!! Time flies when you are raising babies!!! I think it will be my 10 year reunion this summer.

Here's my senior pictures. Look at those long nails!

Here's me at work. I started working at a 50's diner when I was 15 (I don't have any pictures of that job) and then the next year I started working at a marina where I rented out jet skis in the summer. It was the best job for a teen. I sat on a pier on the lake all day in the sun :) Can't beat it!! I did that for a couple summers and loved every minute of it.

The next year at the same marina working off my booty haha?!

Here's me at prom. I went with my boyfriend at the time. I did not have fun lol. I didn't like to dance and my boyfriend totally ditched me to hang out with his friends. My friends from my sophomore year weren't friends with me anymore (ahh the delights of high school drama)..... So I pretty much just sat at a table by myself the whole night at the dance. The only fun part was getting ready. My dress was from Macy's. I loved it! I felt like a princess with my long dress and tight curls haha. I was all into black and white everything at that time. I remember my room was black, white and red. I didn't go to any parties after prom. I wasn't the party type. I'm still not :)

So there's a little peek into my high school years :) So if ya didn't know.... Now ya know! :)

Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana Soup at Home :)

Hi My Loves!!

If you watch our daily vlogs, then you will have seen me talking about some Kale that I got in a Bountiful Basket. I had no idea what it was or what to do with it, so I asked you guys :) One of my lovely Facebook friends Stephanie posted a recipe on my page for the Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana Soup. It looked perfect, so I though that I would give it a shot!

Here's the recipe that I used:

The only thing that I did differently, was that I used Jimmy Dean's Italian sausage, purple kale instead of regular and I also added some cannellini beans to ours as well. I also let mine simmer for just over an hour so that the kale was nice and soft.

This was seriously one of the best soups ever! It takes a little while to prepare but it's so worth it..... Jay and Phoenix really loved it, I loved it too. It is super filling and so yummy with some french bread. A perfect meal for a cold winter day :)

If you try it, let me know how you like it! It so good! So Thanks Stephanie for posting it :)

Happy Sunday :)

Nails of the Week: Blue & Turqouise!

Hi My Loves!

I'm trying to make it a routine of doing my nails every Friday night..... whether or not ill be able to keep that up I don't know but it's nice to have my nails done :) nothing better than looking down at your hands and having a little bit of color on them!

This week I chose Essie "Mesmerized" with China Glaze "For Audrey" on the ring fingers with Avon "Sequined Turqouise" over the top. The Essie color is seriously amazing. A dream to apply.... You could probably get away with one coat as it goes on so smooth with barely any streaking. It just kind of melts onto the nail like butter. LOVE IT! Plus it's the perfect soft navy blue.

Thanks so much for reading :)

Happy Saturday!!

MY NEW HAIR! Pictures & What We Used :)

Hi My Loves!!!

You guys asked for some pictures of my new hair, as well as the formula that my friend used so here you go :)

WATCH IT HERE:

Here's some snaps of it :)

It actually kind of reminds me of Jennifer Aniston's color but a little lighter :)

Gotta do the ponytail test.... you know how I love a good bouncy ponytail :)

If you are wanting this yourself I would ask for light blonde and light golden brown/caramel lowlights. For the cut just ask for medium to long layers all around with face framing layers in the front :) The bottom was cut blunt.

Here's my exact formula:
L'ANZA 1/2 7G & 1/2 6A with 20 volume (lowlights) (Sally's)
Prizm Lights Bleach with 40 volume (highlights) (Sally's)
We left it on for about 30 minutes :)

Thanks so much for reading/watching!

New Sigma Products Swatches & Thoughts!

Hi My Loves!!!

I was so excited and grateful when I received a package from Sigma the other day, with some of their new products inside for me to try :) I was such a nice surprise! Thank you Sigma, I appreciate it so much!!!

These are their new individual products that are available starting Jan 21st on their website Link! These will all be available permanently and there are 30 eye shadow shades and 4 different brow powder shade duos available. You are now also able to by the highlighting, brow pencil and brow gel individually that came in the Brow Design Kit this summer.

Here's what I got :)

Can I just start off by saying how cute the packaging is! It's simple but really cute with the little bit of color in the Sigma part. Like a rainbow :) Perfect size too. I love that the lid is clear so you can see the color that you want. The size of the shadows is ta great size as well. Really big actually!

Reveal is actually one of my favorite colors from the Dare Palette. It's a beautiful red with a soft shimmer, looks amazing on green and blue eyes. I actually have a tutorial with it from a while ago... You must get this one if you enjoy red eyeshadow. It's so pretty!

It's beautifully pigmented and goes on super smooth.

For me Snoop is a disappointment. It's a matte grey but I feel like it's a little chalky.

Triomphe is amazing! It's the coolest color... almost chameleon like. It's so hard to describe as it has a bunch of colors into one. It's like a reddish brown with green iridescent shimmer.... Definitely a MUST HAVE!!

Versailles is a gorgeous creamy gold with bigger flecks of shimmer. You do have to kind of work a little harder to get a good color pay off but the hint of gold once you do is beautiful.

Publicize is a soft buttery color. It's almost a tan but with a little more yellow in it. It has a nice sheen and goes on well. Perfect for those lovers of the neutral eye.

I actually have swatches on these next products here on my blog from when I got the Brow Design kit this summer. They are the exact same products, just sold individually now. Here's my blog post of the swatches: Link!

I like the highlighting pencil. One side is matte, the other is a champagne gold shimmer.

I feel as though these pencils are a tad to big for my tiny little eyebrows. These would be good for someone who actually has eyebrows and wants to just fill them in a bit... but I found it a tad difficult with my needle thin brows. I would just have to make sure to keep them sharpened at all times. The colors seem to be good though. WHen I took a picture on my hand though they did come off a bit shimmery looking but I can't say I noticed that on my brows.

I would say the Medium Brow Powder duo is a good brow powder. I'm actually not too keen on brow powders in general only because mine are so sparse, but these colors in this duo are very nice. Not too warm, not too ashy.

I'm pretty sure the Medium duo has the colors Scarlett and Natasha from the Brow Design Kit.

I also received the brow gel which is exactly the same as in the kit. Clear on one side which is always handy for keeping those little stragglers in place and then tinted on the other side... (can't say I've ever used it or ever will.) Probably better for people with bigger brows than I :)

Here's the kit incase you are wondering what all comes in it.

There's my thoughts on the new goodies. I'm really happy they have come out with individual colors as sometimes you just want a specific color and don't want to have to buy the whole palette. Cool beans!

Hope that's helped!

Thanks so much for reading :)
 Happy Tuesday!
