Check out these AWESOME LEGO Sets! WOW!
Sponsored by Target & LEGO. All opinions are my own. #LEGOPartner #ad
I hope you're all having a great day so far and enjoyed the three day weekend. We spent this past weekend celebrating Phoenix's 10th birthday! I know right?? How is he 10 already??
It's always hard trying to find the ideal birthday present for boys. I find them to be so hard to shop for. Especially nowadays, all Phoenix wants is video games. But I wanted to get him some other presents that didn't consist of him staring at a tv or screen. I feel like LEGO sets are the perfect gifts to give when you don't want something tech related. They keep the kids busy, they're not looking at a screen and it uses their imagination and patience, as well as team work. It's also something fun for them to do with Dad! Jay finds it really rewarding and therapeutic to build LEGO sets so it's a win win for all of them! I like to play with them once they're all set up and built. Haha!
I've known about LEGO sets since I was little but I never really knew anything about who created the brand! After doing a little research, I discovered that the brand was founded in 1932 by the Danish carpenter, Ole Kirk Kristiansen. Did you know that Ole Kirk Kristiansen had 12 siblings? No wonder he wanted to create a toy company! The name ‘LEGO’ is an abbreviation of the two Danish words “leg godt”, meaning “play well”. Pretty fitting! The company has passed from father to son and is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder.
The LEGO brick is their most important product. They've been named “Toy of
the Century” twice and their products have undergone extensive development over the years –
but the foundation remains the traditional LEGO brick. The brick in its present form was launched in 1958. The interlocking principle with its tubes makes it unique and offers unlimited building possibilities. So whether your kids are a "stick by the instruction book" type kid, or a "make up my own design" kid, they are sure to stay busy building and creating with LEGO sets.
What I love about The LEGO Group is their brand values. Creativity, Imagination, Fun, Learning, Caring & Quality. I also love that they have LEGO sets ranging from 1 1/2 years up to 18+ plus so they have something for almost everyone. I remember our kids playing with the bigger brick sets when they were little and here we are, years later, still playing with them. They had so much fun building them with their Dad over the weekend. Building LEGO sets makes them use their imagination, fine motor skills and it does take patience as well, which is a great trait for kids to learn young!
The first LEGO set we built was the LEGO City Family House. We found ours at Target but you can also buy them on Target.com too! LINK HERE! The LEGO section in Target is HUGE!! They have so many to choose from like LEGO NINJAGO, LEGO City, LEGO friends and so many more! I'll link a few on our wish list here for you!
Shop our wishlist sets here or click on any of them above too!
While Jay and the kids built the sets, I was busy doing laundry and this kept them all busy for hours! It was the most peaceful laundry I've done in a while. Never thought those words would come out of my mouth. Peaceful Laundry. LOL.

It's the attention to details that really impressed us. Like this poo for example. That was the winner for me. The kids thought it was hilarious. LOL.
This lady's just barbequing chicken thighs on her balcony.
The kids are playing hockey outside!
It even came with a dog wash and an electric car. They think of everything!
Here's the pup begging for a hotdog while this girl enjoys her lunch!
I love that the electric car even has a license plate. So realistic!
There's a music room.
A private bathroom. Like I said.. attention to details.
A kitchen with a blender. Everyone needs their green juice.
They even have a gaming room! Hilarious!
The next LEGO set we built was the LEGO Friends Heartlake City Movie Theater. Lily loves this one.
The reporter is super cute and the movie star is very glamorous!
The popcorn guy is pretty adorable too!
I mean who wouldn't want popcorn from him?? LOL
It opens up as well to show the movie, seats and it even has a bathroom too!
Cuties.
Here's the actual movie theater sets. Drinks and all.
So cute!
So glamorous on her red carpet!
What a lovely bathroom!
I love the movie projector.
The ticket booth.
Ok there's the LEGO sets in detail that we built. The kids and Jay had a blast building them and I've been having fun playing with the kids pretending to sell popcorn and ask all the important questions that reporters ask celebrities. If you're looking for the perfect gift for your kids or for a birthday party gift for your kids friends, be sure to check out Target! They've got so many LEGO sets to choose from! You're guaranteed to find the perfect one!
Love, Sam
